There are two standards or levels for a car to become a Certified Pre-Owned car with Ford.  The first level is Blue Certified.  A Certified Blue vehicle is no older than 10 years old and has less than 120,000 miles.  Certified Blue vehicles must pass a detailed 139-point inspection to be certified at the blue level, these cars also come with a 90-day or 4,000-mile comprehensive, limited warranty so you know that you have a good car.  
CPOs certified at the gold level are an even better value.  These cars are less than 6-years old and have under 80,000 miles.  They go through a thorough 179-point inspection, and they come with a 12-month or 12,000-mile comprehensive limited warranty as well as a 7-year or 100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty.  This level gives you the best value for your CPO investment and you have even more peace of mind when you go Gold.
